Gan Israel Online began with a simple dream. In the spring of 2003, Rabbi Yosef B. Kulek the director of Camp Gan Israel of Greater Hartford commissioned Gad Serruya, of Dextel .net to design a website that would be fun, exciting and appealing to parents and youth alike. A solution that would serve Gan Israel’s needs year-round. After months of research and collaboration a beautiful and dynamic site was created http://ganizzy.net.
The website was an instant success. People from all over the globe were visiting the site. In the winter of 2005, Rabbi Kulek was suggested that such a sensational site be shared with other shluchim. The idea was to provide shluchim with a great website at an affordable price. Through the combined efforts of eight pioneering Gan Israel day camps Gan Israel Online was launched in March of 2005.
This is a unique venture that is based on a few years of design and development, trial and error. A site designed by camp directors exclusively for camp. This project is derived from a site that has proven successful, and a designer who offers a creative and fresh look.
The vision for this project is a very clean fun site that keeps some design rules and structure and eliminates clutter. Gan Israel Online developed a site that is extremely exciting and attractive, with tremendous ease of use. They took into consideration, that a camp director who is a full time shaliach the rest of the year will want a site that is low maintenance.
Rabbi Yosef Kulek leads the programming department and youth department of the Chabad House of Greater Hartford. This means that he oversees daycare, Hebrew School, summer and winter camp and youth oriented holiday programming. In addition, he works tirelessly to provide the adults of the community with holiday services and programming. Rabbi Kulek is also the director of Chabad Chevra, an active student group at University of Hartford.
Gan Israel Online is under the auspices of Chabad House of Greater Hartford
